At this point, we expect every big match in the WWE to become a triple threat or have some other gimmick or stipulation added to make it sound exciting, so Seth Rollins teasing being added to WrestleMania’s main event doesn’t surprise us.
Though he’s just teasing us, there have been a lot of fans half heartily joking about this scenario as it happens just about every week on both main brand shows.
It’s gone from an occasionally cool treat to being a regular excuse to put as many big names into a match as possible and it no longer has the effect it used to.
With that being said, we think it’d be an awesome match simply for the talent in the ring.
Rollins as spoiler
Rollins appeared on a radio interview with Claibs Online and he talked about being added to the match for the Universal Championship.
Special thanks to @the_wrestling_news2 for the transcript.
“I made my presence known in a Brock-Roman match once before at WrestleMania, so who’s to say I couldn’t do it again? Who knows. We are roughly seven, eight weeks out from WrestleMania at this point now, so anything can happen between now and then.”
As Rollins said, there’s plenty of time between now and WrestleMania so it may not even happen. The WWE has been praised for having their creative plans laid out for months in advance, but also for shredding everything hours before an event is held.
In this case, is Rollins is added to the match it means he’ll be there to keep Lesnar and Reigns strong, meaning he’ll take the loss.
It’ll be the WWE’s way to once again have the match end without a clean winner like between Lashley and Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
Not what fans want
Much like the constant string of gimmick matches have worn out their welcome, so has Lesnar and Reigns facing each other.
While they have good matches, fans are mostly tired of seeing it. It’s repetitive and has grown old. By and large, we’d prefer to see Lesnar and Lashley without some kind of interference.
But since that has a slim chance, we’d like to see Reigns and Lesnar have a clean match. Another impossibility.
In the end, Reigns will slay the Beast by pinning Rollins and we’ll continue the greatest reign ever without legitimate straight up wins over big names.
Or maybe we’re wrong and Rollins is messing with us. Or someone could read this and fans’ comments online and chance the ending.
Like Rollins said, we have plenty of time to go before we reach WrestleMania.
