Supporters of Meghan Markle have come out to slam Kate Middleton on the grounds that she is trying to piggyback on the coattails of Meghan.
Supporters Of Meghan Markle Blast Kate Middleton For Trying To Mirror Her-‘Meghan’s Copycat, But Talentless’
This all came on the back end of reports that Kate had been taking part in a book reading for the book ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark’ by Jill Tomlinson for the TV show CBeebies.
And given that Meghan had recently announced the release of her book entitled ‘The Bench’ there was a feeling amongst her supporters that Kate was trying to copy her.
While it is true to say that there are always going to be comparisons between Meghan and Kate, the very fact of the matter is that things did get very hostile indeed.
And this was shown in the social media comments that emerged. One person wrote: “Meghan reads to children, so copy Kate does the same,” while another person stated: “Meghan’s copycat. But talentless.”
In defence of Kate, she is not the only high-profile person that has recently done this. A significant majority of entertainment stars including Tom Hardy, as well as Ed Sheeran have also followed the same lead.
Not only that, given that Kate Middleton is doing something that is giving back to the community even if it is on a small level, then that should be commended at the very least.
Nevertheless, the backlash continued to follow. Meghan’s fans were of the view that Kate was trying to cross over into the celebrity world, just as Meghan has successfully managed to do so.
This could be seen by her recent appearances on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’, as well as the highly publicised interview with Oprah Winfrey at the time.
And given that Meghan is an actress by trade, there was the feeling that Kate may have felt the stiff competition. Another user remarked: ”Kate at a cooking event. Kate reading a (someone else’s) book. #copycat much… Just me? #sussexsquad.”
Meghan Markle certainly does have a loyal fan base, but perhaps sometimes they cross the line and make a mountain out of a molehill. So there you have it folks. What do you think?
