Tonight is an exciting night for fans of AEW. Not only do we get a AEW World Championship match on Dynamite tonight, but also have been promised a big debut. Ever since AEW Rampage this past Friday, speculation has run wild on who is showing up. Tony Khan is at the heart of it all, building expectations for fans – saying it’s both a free agent and someone who’s coming through the Forbidden Door. However, just ahead to the debut he has made it clear that he doesn’t intend to let the fans down.
Tony Khan Doesn’t Want To Let Fans Down
While speaking with PWInsider, Tony Khan had the following to say about the coming AEW debut. A lifelong wrestling fan, Khan has tasted the bitter disappointment that can often come from big surprises – but that has inspired him to not do the fans dirty like that. Khan had the following to say on what not to expect from tonight’s debut.
“The last thing you want to do is have something built up and then people be disappointed. I remember when I was a kid and the higher power turned out to be Vince, that was very disappointing because at school we had spent so much time speculating who it might be and I think our big fear is that it was just going to be Vince. So I don’t want that to happen here.”
Plenty Of Options For Tonights Debut
There has been many theories on who will show up tonight. Everyone from Keith Lee to John Cena to Jay White has been theorised by fans. Some obviously have better chances than others.
Right now Jay White & Josh Alexander are top runners – as talent from WWE have never been considered part of the ‘Forbidden Door’. Whoever it is will show up to face Isiah Kassidy, and could earn a spot in the coming ladder match at AEW Revolution.
