Dolph Ziggler has done a lot in WWE – but he’s never been NXT Champion. When he set his sights on young Bron Breakker, he figured no one would challenge his claim. However, Tommaso Ciampa did – and after showing up on Monday Night RAW to defeat Ziggler in a tag team match – they will clash tonight with in a #1 contenders match for the NXT Championship.

Ciampa would fight free of a Sleeper Hold before nailing some heavy chops. Ziggler was ran down by a lariat before the rolling elbow. Knee strike was dodged by Zig-Zag was blocked, before Ciampa caught Ziggler with a big knee strike below the jaw – sending him to the outside.
Throughout the picture-in-picture break, Ciampa would maintain control of Ziggler until a neckbreaker landed. Side headlock was applied, but Ciampa would fight free with some blows to the midsection. Ziggler was launched into the corner, before a big lariat landed once again.
Dolph Ziggler Gets Aid From Former NXT Champion
Ciampa would take a dropkick before coming back with a right hand to the jaw. Ziggler hit the ropes and came back with a Fame Asser, before he’d tune up the band. The superkick was blocked with a pump kick, before Project Ciampa for the two count. Running knee strike hit under the jaw – but the bottom rope saved Ziggler from the three count.
Ziggler rolled the outside, and suckered Ciampa into the Zig Zag – and got him into the ring just before the ten count. Ciampa would have some arm issues after the Zig-Zag and couldn’t get the Fairytale ending, and Ziggler would apply the sleeper hold. Fighting to his feet, Ciampa slammed Ziggler to the mat for a near fall.
This fight moved to the apron, where both men laid in some heavy strikes before Ciampa hit the Air Raid crash on the apron. Ziggler was put back into the ring by Ciampa, before a cameraman hit Ciampa with the camera. A superkick would follow, and Ziggler stole this. That camera man was none other than former NXT Champion, Bobby Roode!
