Recently, fans were baffled to see that AEW had extended the contract of Brian Cage. Having been absent from AEW programming since Fall of 2021, fans assumed Cage was one of the names who would be let go from the company – but he’s sticking around. Brian Cage has now revealed that he’s already made some pitches on what to do when he returns to TV.
Brian Cage Has Made Pitches To AEW
While speaking on the ‘Going Broadway’ podcast, Cage would say the following about his AEW status.
“I’ve pitched different ideas. I know there was a couple ideas that changes up towards the end. But yeah, I’ve came up a couple different ideas, and I know there are different creative ideas. Some are more detailed than others, but I guess all I can say is that it’s all supposed to formulate into this plan that is underway.”
Having A Win Over AEW World Heavyweight Champion Hangman Page Gives A Potentially Fast Rise To Top
Right now, one idea circulating from fans is to have Cage make his return and target Hangman Page. Prior to vanishing from AEW TV, he was able to get a win over the current AEW World Heavyweight Champion. Cage is someone who can show up and jump to the top for a quick match with Page, which would be an amazing way to remind everyone just what kind of performer Cage is.
Another potential idea is having Cage be involved with Ring of Honor, which is now owned by Tony Khan. The roster bloat of AEW will likely see a few talents showing up in ROH after the April 1st restart. Folks like Brian Cage & Tony Nese could really help to boost the stock of ROH.
AEW wouldn’t have kept Cage around if they had no plans to use him – so sooner or later, he will make his return to TV. Where do you see Brian Cage fitting into the AEW roster in 2022? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
