That is according to Royal expert Camilla Tominey. Kate, for her part, has come a long way since that time.
She has been married to Prince William for around a decade during which she has taken on a leading role in the Royal family, especially since the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Not only that, but she has managed to raise three children under this intense scrutiny. And yet, there was a time where Kate’s shyness did get the better of her.
In an interview, Camilla said: “I think it’s difficult for Kate individually because I think she’s intrinsically quite shy. I think she could give herself more credit by speaking more.
“She’s had this crippling fear of public speaking.” Unlike Kate, someone who does not have this issue is none other than Meghan Markle. The latter is an actress by trade, and therefore is comfortable in the public limelight.
Nevertheless, this did work against her during her recent Oprah Winfrey interview in which she was accused of fabricating and playing to the public heartstrings.
With that being said, it seems that Kate’s shyness has aided her in becoming more relatable to the public. However, Meghan’s confident but often perceived arrogance has worked against her when it comes to public opinion.
And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. A large majority of people viewed Kate very positively, as they felt that she carried herself very well.
Not only that, but her introduction to the Royal family has given it some much-needed rejuvenation. One person wrote: “I admire this woman who truly embodies the highest ideals of royalty & grace.”
Kate has managed to settle into the Royal family, something which Meghan failed to do. And now that she has managed to overcome her shyness, she has become one of the most popular members ever in the process.
