Kazuchika Okada is hard to defeat in 2022, and has made it all the way to the quarter finals of the New Japan Cup. However, now he’s got to face an unknown element in GLEAT’s own CIMA. CIMA has been around for years, and much like Okada got his start in Ultimo Dragon’s dojo – but they’ve never met in singles action before this night. Okada hasn’t had a chance to share the ring with CIMA on this tour at all – and that could be all CIMA needs to get the upset win tonight.
A First Time Ever Match – And Dream Match For Some
Okada would start this one by picking the ankle of CIMA, before being taken into a pinfall. CIMA would get his head snatched into a side headlock, and would have to fight his way free using the ropes. Okada would shove CIMA to the ropes, but allow the clean break.
CIMA uncorked a heavy overhand chop, only to take a big boot, snapmare and sliding dropkick – sending him to the floor. Back into the ring, Okada would once again control the pace with a rear chinlock, but CIMA got the ropes again. CIMA would send Okada to the floor, and nail the running Meteora off the apron.
Into the ring, CIMA would nail some Hammer & Anvil elbows, before an aggressive roll up for a two count. Okada would catch CIMA with a massive flapjack. Some forearm shots would follow, before Okada nailed the fast back elbow off the ropes. DDT would follow, but CIMA kicked out at two.
CIMA Falls To The Rainmaker
On the floor, CIMA would take a shotgun dropkick from Okada. Money Clip was applied, before CIMA got free using the drops. Dropkick into a senton splash would get CIMA the two count. Okada would hit a dropkick of his own, before hitting the elbow drop off the top rope.
Rainmaker pose was hit, and CIMA would be able to avoid. Okada was hit with the Blindside Metora, but avoided the springboard to the front. CIMA was caught with a tombstone piledriver, before nailing the backstabber. He’d go coast to coast with a dropkick, before again looking for the final blow.
Okada would take a double stomp instead, before CIMA exposed the knees for the Metora. CIMA would get all canvas, before Okada applied the Money Clip in the middle of the ring. The bottom rope saved CIMA, who avoided the Landslide and looked for Schewn. Okada would get wrist control and nail two quick lariats, before taking a superkick to the head. Landslide and Rainmaker would follow, and CIMA has fallen.
