Shingo Takagi is someone who tends to bring out the best in his opponents – and this was the case when he met Tanga Loa in the 2021 G1 Climax. Now, as Loa returns to Japan – we will run this match back. Jay White attacked Tama Tonga recently, putting the status of Guerillas of Destiny in flux – but a strong singles showing tonight could show that Loa is going nowhere – one way or another.
Tanga Loa Once Again Proves He Can’t Keep Shingo Takagi Down
Shingo would force Loa to the ropes early for a chop, before they’d test each other with shoulder tackles. Neither man would stagger, before trading forearm strikes – with Loa getting the edge. Shingo hit the ropes and charged Loa down with the shoulder tackle, before hitting a scoop slam and jumping senton.
Loa slipped outside, but Shingo used the ring post to do some damage before chucking him into the barricade. Shingo would be run down as Loa came back with a hard lariat – before being slid into the ring and hit with the vaulting senton. The running powerslam would get the two count before Loa wanted to apply the O.J.K Crossface.
Shingo was able to fight his way free, and hit the vertical suplex. Loa hit the Exploder Suplex in response, before being dropped with a lariat. A dropkick into the Blue Thunder Bomb would set up a massive diving headbutt from Loa, but Shingo stayed in the fight.
Ape Shit would be blocked, and Shingo hit the sliding lariat. Shingo would follow up with the superplex, before battering Loa with the forearm strikes. Pumping Bomber was blocked into a spear before a powerbomb for the two count. Shingo would take a kick to the head and come back with Pumping Bomber right into a pinfall for the win.
Shingo Takagi will now move onto Chase Owens in the third round, which is as one-sided as a late tournament match can get.
Tama Tonga Has Jado In His Corner – Is Announced As Member Of BULLET CLUB
Tama Tonga is finally back in Japan, and making his first appearance since being double crossed by Jay White in Impact Wrestling. No one knows what will become of BULLET CLUB, but tonight – Tama Tonga meets another man who will claim to be a leader of the faction with EVIL. Jado would come to the ring with Tama Tonga for this, showing that he’s still got an ally in the faction.
Tama would attack EVIL before the bell, brawling on the entrance ramp. EVIL would take Tama down and choke him with the cables on the floor – before he was driven into the barricade. Tama would be left on the floor as EVIL would look for the count-out, but Tama made it back in at 19.
EVIL would expose a corner of the ring, before being dropped with a dropkick from Tama. He’d not keep the advantage however, as EVIL drove him down and choked him with a steel chair. Tama got choked on the barricade, and loudly yelled “F*ck you EVIL”.
Finally, both men would reach the ring. Tama would dodge as EVIL tried to drive him into the exposed corner, before hitting a quick neckbreaker. With the crowd behind him, Tama nailed a dropkick before hitting the splash in the corner. Dick Togo ran a distraction as Tama went to the top rope, before EVIL used the referee to hit the Magic Killer.
Jado, Tanga Loa, Tama Tonga Are Double Crossed By Rest Of BULLET CLUB, EVIL Moves To Third Round
Darkness Scorpion would be applied, but Tama Tonga would be able to make the crawl to the bottom rope. EVIL would instead turn to Darkness Falls, but Tama was able to kick out. The STO would be blocked, but Tama had his eyes gouged before being thrown into the exposed steel.
Showing the toughness his father Meng is known for, Tama would let out a primal scream and tore EVIL down with a lariat. EVIL got his boots up to hit a charging Tama, before being dropped with the Tongan Twist. Gun Stun would be blocked, but the Death Valley Bomb was not. Tama would hit the top rope, and nailed Supreme Flow for a near fall.
Hyping up the crowd for the GunStun, it’d land in the middle of the ring – but Dick Togo pulled the referee out of the ring before the three count. Togo would choke Tama with the garret, before Jado made the save. SHO & Yujiro Takahashi would beat down Jado, before ELP & Taiji Ishimori seemingly drove off House of Torture. ELP would hit the Sudden Death Kick however, and allow EVIL to get the victory.
Jado was the one to stand with Tama Tonga in this brawl. Chase Owens would pick his side as he attacked Jado, and Bad Luck Fale would choose his side, as he put down Tanga Loa and Tama Tonga both. Gedo would break thirty years of friendship with Jado, and laid him out with Brass Knuckles.
