YOSHI-HASHI drew the golden ticket as far as it came to the New Japan Cup. His first round was a tough fight against Tomoaki Honma, but was a very winnable match for YOSHI-HASHI. Now, in the second round he’s got the young lion Kosei Fujita, who drew a lucky first round bye – but just all but ensures YOSHI-HASHI moves to the third round of tournament action.

YOSHI-HASHI To Face Winner Of Jeff Cobb & Satoshi Kojima In Round Three

Fujita would be quick to throw some strikes at YOSHI-HASHI, before falling to the shoulder tackle. YOSHI-HASHI laid in some chops before applying a chinlock. Fujita was able to break free, only to have his arm trapped and YOSHI-HASHI would lay in some chops before a two count off a vertical suplex.

YOSHI-HASHI would get nailed with the dropkick, and Fujita would quickly follow up with a second. The Boston Crab would be applied, though YOSHI-HASHI would find the ropes. Fujita was launched with the backdrop, before slamming him down and applying a Single Leg Boston Crab.

YOSHI-HASHI felt Fujita getting too close to the ropes, and grabbed the other leg before bending Fujita at a high angle. Fujita would get the bottom rope, before taking Bunker Buster for a two count. Finally, Butterfly Lock was applied, and YOSHI-HASHI would get the submission victory.

Tetsuya Naito To Face Winner Of Bad Luck Fale & Hiroshi Tanahashi In Round Three

Tetsuya Naito had a tough fight in the first round of the New Japan Cup, but he was able to get past his former partner Yujiro Takahashi. Now, he’s got another member of BULLET CLUB, in Gedo. Gedo only got to the second round thanks to a first round bye, and will need to rely on a career’s worth of underhanded tricks to potentially pull off an upset victory tonight.

Naito would take his time taking off his entrance gear, only for Gedo to flee the ring once the bell rang. Gedo would try to sneak up on Naito, and this time – Naito headed to the outside. Naito would get a kick on Gedo before grabbing at the beard, using the Greco Roman Beard Hold.

Gedo would be tossed across the ring with the Beard Drag. On the outside, Gedo would try to force the double countout. Naito would pull the brass knuckles out of the pocket of Gedo, and Gedo fled into the ring. Gedo was able to hit a knee breaker, before bending the knee over the apron.

Now with a target, Gedo would focus on the limb – using the bell hammer on the knee on the floor. In the ring, Figure Four Leg Lock would be applied, but Naito was able to get to the ropes. Gedo would stomp the knee, before looking for a hip drop and landing crotch first on the foot of Naito.
Basement dropkick to the neck would land, before the swinging neckbreaker for the two count. Full Nelson would be applied using the legs, before Gedo got free… and took a dropkick to the nose. Gedo would look for the Gedo Clutch, but only got a two count. Grabbing a second pair of brass knuckles, Gedo would look for the KO – only to fall to a quick cradle pin.
