Piers Morgan’s Son, Spencer Slams Russia’s Bid To Host European Championship
FIFA and UEFA some weeks ago imposed bans on its national teams and all Russian clubs as a result of the ongoing attack on Ukraine which began about one month ago. Likewise, the Final of the Champions League which is arguably the world’s biggest club football match was shifted from St Petersburg to Paris as a form of protest against the invasion. Nonetheless, Russia has since contested the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Spencer Morgan made his position on Russia’s Euro bid known via his Twitter account. His remarks come after Sky Sports News shared a clip of presenter Mike Wedderburn saying, “Russia is planning on launching a bid to host the European Championship in 2028 and 2032.”
In response to the clip, Spencer penned, “More chance of dad hosting Meghan Markle’s birthday party” and was quickly overwhelmed with several comments. One user commented, “Brilliant Spencer! Read this and haven’t stopped laughing since.” Another user joked: “I’d pay money to see that!” Spencer Morgan’s comments come after his father Piers took to Twitter yesterday to sensationally slam Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
His dad also denied reports that William and Kate received a hostile reception on their trip to the Caribbeans. The TV presenter penned, “Actually, despite the best efforts of your beloved Sussexes to smear the Royal Family as a bunch of nasty racists, they’ve been received with great warmth and joy.”
The Cambridges have been in Jamaica since Tuesday for a royal tour as the monarchy strives to strengthen relationships with Caribbean nations.
