Former Royal chef Darren McGrady has opened up on how Prince Harry taught him a thing or two when it came to cooking.
Former Royal Chef Recalls How Prince Harry Gave Him Some Cooking Advice-‘I Thought ‘You Brat, You Taught Me How To Cook’
Darren, for his part, is well acquainted with the Royal family after having been a personal chef in the institution for around 15 years.
During the course of that process, he worked for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Princess Diana, as well as Harry and Prince William.
His credentials cannot be questioned, as Darren did undertake his training at the world-renowned Savoy Hotel in London. And yet, it seems that Harry taught him a new string to his bow.
Following the return from a family holiday, Harry had asked Darren to prepare some bacon. But rather than let him do it all, Harry gave him some much-needed pointers.
In an interview with the Express.co.uk, Darren said: “He [Harry] said…In America we had crispy bacon. It was so good. And what you do is once you’ve cooked it, you put it on some paper towel in the microwave and it goes really crispy.
“And I said ‘get out..I tried it and it came out really crispy. I thought ‘you brat, you taught me how to cook!’” But aside from enjoying bacon, Harry did have a preference for having food that was probably not the healthiest.
Ken Wharfe, who happened to be the former bodyguard to Princess Diana, spoke on how Diana would like to treat her children.
And she would often try to keep this as discreet as possible in order to avoid getting the attention of their father, Prince Charles, who clearly did not approve.
In some prior comments, he remarked: “I remember William saying, ‘what are those?’ And Diana said, ‘they’re waffles. Don’t tell your father about it.”
Harry has come a long way since then, as he is no longer part of the Royal family. But it is stories like this that show what could have been had he kept good relations with them. So there you have it folks. What did you think about all of this? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
