Prince William And Kate Middleton Visit The Ukrainian Cultural Centre To Show Their Support For Ukraine
The couple immediately spoke out in the aftermath of the Russian invasion and made it clear that their support was behind the Ukrainian people. As a way to give back, they decided to meet people that were trying to help those affected by the war.
In the pictures here, we can see the couple wearing some badges showing the Ukrainian flag. They had also bought a gift of some chocolate treats for the volunteers.
In a post to their followers on Twitter, Prince William and Kate Middleton wanted to highlight the amazing work that the community were doing.
They said: “The Ukrainian Cultural Centre in London has become one of many hubs organising donations, material aid and supporting Ukrainians living locally.
“The work volunteers here are doing to ensure that help gets to where it is most needed is inspiring.”
Much in the same way, Prince Charles had also made a visit to St. Luke’s Church in London to show his support for their refugee response program.
It is no secret that a large number of Ukrainians will have no option but to seek asylum with Britain being one of the leading countries in that regard. In order to show the British people’s solidarity, Charles wanted to let everyone know that the country was on hand to help.
In an official statement, he said: “I just wanted to say that we are so fortunate to have people like the wonderful churches here, who are all over the world – all helping, all providing selfless service under the most challenging, dangerous conditions.”
The couple were praised for their work, as large numbers of people got behind their efforts. And by doing so, it was a chance for people to make a difference.
One person wrote: “Wonderful work… love seeing you out together helping… Thank you all everyone for helping.”
