Jennifer Shah has opened up on why she decided to reject a plea deal amid her telemarketing fraud case.
RHOSLC: Jennifer Shah Outlines Why She Rejected A Plead Deal-‘I’m Fighting This, I Am Innocent’
The star of the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” has been embroiled in a telemarketing fraud scandal in which she has been accused of embezzling funds.
Her assistant, Stuart Smith, has already pleaded guilty to this, and yet, Jennifer has denied doing any of the sort. And going forward, she will not compromise her beliefs.
In a statement on the reunion show, she said: “I’m fighting this. I am innocent. And I will fight for every person out there that can’t fight for themselves because they don’t have the resources or the means, so they don’t fight.”
These comments are very significant for the following reasons. First of all, if the court decided that she is in fact guilty, then there could be a chance that her punishment is more severe by virtue of the fact that she has shown no remorse.
Secondly, Jennifer has to consider how long she can continue to deny these claims. If she is found guilty, she could face up to 50 years in jail. And if that were to happen, then it is safe to say that her time on the housewives franchise will be over.
Having said that, though, Jennifer continued to double down on her beliefs. She added: “I will fight because No. 1, I’m innocent.
“And No. 2, I’m going to f—king represent every other person out there that can’t fight and hasn’t been able to.” The response on social media was very brutal towards Jennifer.
A significant majority of people felt she was simply trying to garner sympathy among the public. One person wrote: “Put me in a maximum security facility if I ever become as delusional as Jennifer Shah.”
Jennifer’s future is hanging in the balance. With so much on the line, she will have to make sure that she has a credible defense.
Anything outside of that could prove detrimental to her case. We will have to see how this will play out. So what did you think about this? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
