Samantha Markle has downplayed the chances of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle becoming TV stars, going as far as to state that they will never be like the Kardashians.

It is no secret that Meghan Markle has attempted to branch out into other fields ever since she left the Royal family. This was most notably seen during her highly-publicised appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’
In addition, she and Harry have decided to work on lucrative projects via Netflix and Spotify. While the couple do have some major plans, Samantha was quick to bring them down to Earth.
In an interview with the Daily Star, she said: “They’re not the Kardashians. That’s comparing apples to oranges. The Kardashians were an American business empire and everyone knows their background.”
The primary reason why Samantha feels this way is because of the couple’s attempts to use their association with the Royal family and get the benefits without actually being in the institution.
This has played out with rows developing over whether or not Meghan should be allowed to use her Duchess title. Not only that, but Meghan was also recently accused of meddling into United States politics after she declared her support for paid parental leave.
This was borne out by way of a letter she had sent to the House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi. And for Samantha, she was of the view that the pair had to stand on their own two feet.
She added: “They made the choice to leave The Royal Family and that means when you leave royal duty, you don’t get the benefits that convey, whether it’s titles or all of the perks, you know, it’s crazy.”
The response on social media was mixed. A certain subset of people agreed with what Samantha had to say. Meanwhile, others felt that Meghan was successful in her own right prior to meeting Harry.
As such, the criticism was overboard. One person wrote: “Please tell me why people fawn after Kim Kardashian but happily slate Meghan Markle. I find people’s utter hatred for her repugnant.
“She was a financially independent, political minded woman before she met Harry. Meghan is an inspiration to so many girls.”
