Sophie Wessex could not hide her emotions during a recent meeting with an old lady she assisted during the peak of the pandemic. The 57-year-old countess was visibly moved to tears as she exchanged pleasantries with Edna Farley at Newsman House in Liverpool, the venue for the 90th birthday celebration of the old lady.
Sophie turned up for the event after receiving an invitation from Edna herself. They both developed a strong bond as a result of the NHS Volunteers Responders scheme.

According to reports, Sophie Wessex who is the wife of Prince Edward, youngest child of the Queen phoned Edna every two weeks and has been in contact touch with her since. The Countess of Wessex took time off her busy schedule to phone the 90-year-old as a volunteer for the Royal Voluntary Service during the peak of the Covid crisis which is quite impressive.
For the birthday, her fashion did not disappoint either as her lovely skirt got many people talking on social media. Sophie and Edna were later captured sharing a brief moment of a hug before taking their seats to converse for a while. Sophie has continued to become receive praise and commendation from the Brits for her charitable deeds.
A few days ago, she launched a charity research programme at Swansea University that will advance facial reconstruction. During the launch, Sophie reportedly met with one Elizabeth Soffe, an 8-year old with heart-breaking burns which were sustained from infanthood after her crib engulfed in fire. ‘
She was also spotted having a conversation with some of the employees of the research centre before uncovering a memorial stone in honour of the kick-off of the research project. Moreover, she reportedly met with victims of intensive burns and shared a moment of warm embrace with them before leaving the centre.
Although she receives less attention than other wives of male royals in the British royal family, her hearty contribution to several charity programmes in the United Kingdom has earned her the respect of several Brits.
