The WWE has long been on its own mountaintop as the most visionary of wresting companies when it comes to presentation, and that comes from Vince McMahon.
From the first day he purchased the WWE from his father, Vince invested heavily in the production aspect of his product so it looks better and sharper than the rest and that helped him get the TV deals during the early days of cable.
Those deals gave him the money to sign other companies’ top talent like AWA’s Hulk Hogan and so on and it signaled the end of the territory days.

Taking the next step
We got to see more of this mentality in action when the pandemic forced most companies to shut down, but the WWE continued on with some of their trademark presentations with awesome laser and lights displays to make an empty arena as interesting as possible.
Now, they’re stepping it up once again as they joined Fathom Events to show both nights of WrestleMania 38 in multiple theaters to help fans get the experience of watching the event in a public area.
The deal was announced on wwe.com earlier today.
“Fathom Events is the leader in the event cinema industry and they can deliver a unique and exciting experience to WWE fans who can’t make it to Dallas for WrestleMania,” said Emilio Revelo, WWE Vice President. ‘We are thrilled to partner with them as we bring our biggest event of the year to big screens nationwide.’
“Any fan knows that WrestleMania is WWE’s most pivotal event and Fathom Events is excited to bring these blockbuster match-ups to movie theaters nationwide,” said Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Events. ‘We’re also very proud to be working with WWE on this event and many more in the future.’”
Entertainment
It has long been stated by Jim Cornette and others that Vince McMahon always wanted to produce entertainment, and he wanted to make the WWE into pro wrestling’s Disney. And this is another step in that direction.
This is a throwback to when pay-per-views and other closed circuit events were shown in bars and theaters, but it’s also a way for the WWE to make some coin off their events since the WWE Network and not Peacock don’t charge anything extra for the events.
At the end of the day, Vince McMahon and the WWE are there to entertain wrestling fans, and this is a big step in that direction and lifts them above their competition in several ways.
