A-Kid had some good success in NXT UK – but now he’s moving to the United States. Kicking off his time in the country, he’s got one of the best wrestlers in the world today – KUSHIDA. This is a first time ever matchup, and likely to steal the show. During Escobar vs. Grimes, this match was turned into a match where the winner will face Grayson Waller with a shot in the NXT North American Championship Ladder match – adding to the stakes.
A-Kid Makes Massive NXT Debut – Defeats KUSHIDA
Kicking this one off fast, A-Kid would take KUSHIDA down to the mat – before applying the headscissor hold. KUSHIDA would slip his way free, but A-Kid was ready for this. He’d catch KUSHIDA off the ropes with an armdrag, before having to avoid an armlock.
KUSHIDA would slam A-Kid down into an armbreaker attempt, but wouldn’t catch A-Kid so easily. A backslide would get KUSHIDA into the crossface attempt, before A-Kid would look for the Omoplata. KUSHIDA got the bottom rope and broke the hold, before applying the Boston Crab. A-Kid was able to get free, and threw some forearm strikes.
KUSHIDA hit the armdrag into a dropkick, before the shoulder armbreaker. Shotei in the corner was blocked before A-Kid was again having his arm abused. An enziguri from A-Kid would rock KUSHIDA, before a moonsault DDT would get A-Kid the win over KUSHIDA! He’s now just one win away from making it to Stand & Deliver.
After this match, Rey & Dominik Mysterio would bump into Legado Del Fantasma. Dominik would challenge one of them to step up and face him after being mocked – saying he will prove he’s the future of Lucha Libre.
Tiffany Stratton Outsmarts Sarray
Sarray has been on fire since returning from Japan, and the confidence she gets from her heirloom necklace is one of the main reasons. This made the intereaction between Sarray & Stratton a few weeks back when Stratton called it tacky? That was enough to get Sarray’s blood boiling. She’d cost Stratton her match against Fallon Henley, and this week goes one on one with Stratton.
Stratton would attack Sarray before she was able to transform, forcing Sarray to wrestle in her street clothes. After dodging the Sunray Dropkick, and nailing a back handspring splash in the corner? Twisting Vader Bomb was able to get the win. This was a great plan by Stratton, but she won the battle, not the war.
