WWE NXT 2.0 Results: Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai Advance To The Finals Of The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, MSK vs. Imperium Ends In No Contest (03/08)

Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray might be the two best wrestlers in the NXT Women’s division, but they’re not the most experienced tag team. That goes to Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter – who’ve been teaming up for years now. These two teams will now clash in the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and only one can find their way to the finals.

Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai Advance To The Finals Of The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

KLR would kick this match off with Carter, and nailed one of her heavy handed chops. Carter shot back with a forearm shot, before a tag to Catanzaro saw a chance to trip KLR up and hit a senton over the top rope. Catanzaro would match Io Shirai and get a two count off a hurricanrana, before getting another near fall off a Victory Roll.

Carter would hit a crossbody onto KLR at ringside, and Shirai was sent out to the floor for a twisting plancha from Catanzaro. A quick commercial break came and went, and when action returned – Carter would take the shoulder tackle from Shirai before avoiding the elbow drop. Shirai looked for a spin out slam, but Carter blocked into a DDT.

Catanzaro got a tag, before hitting a facebuster for the two count. Shirai would be able to catch Carter with a 619 before a missile dropkick. KLR would hit the ring and help with a double superplex attempt – before taking a super poisonrana – but Shirai was there to make the save. KLR bomb into the moonsault would be enough to set our finals.

It’’ll be Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai vs. Dakota Kai & Wendy Choo! Kai has the chance to get two in a row, but KLR & Shirai seem to be meshing better than anyone expected.

MSK Step Into A Title Shot – The Creed Brothers Break This Match Down

The Creed Brothers fought their way through the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and claimed the trophy? They are ready to make good on their opportunity to challenge Imperium for the NXT Tag Team Titles. Fabian Aichner & Marcel Bartel now have GUNTHER by their side, but have never met a team who can match their physicality quite like The Creed Brothers. However, an attack in the parking lot took The Creed Brothers out of the picture, so now MSK have stepped up for a title shot instead!

Bartel would start off with Nash Carter, and was sent across the ring with a hurricanrana. Carter built up some steam off the ropes, before being tripped up by Bartel. Wes Lee got the tag and was able to cut him down – as Wade Barrett accused MSK of being the ones to attack The Creed Brothers. Aichner tagged in and slammed Lee into the ropes, before attacking the knee on the mat.

Lee would break free and get the blind tag to Carter, who’d trade blows with Aichner before being dropped with a heavy lariat. Shooting back with a superkick, Bartel would have his knee buckled before Lee was able to get back into the fight and quickly nailed a moonsault – before Aichner nailed a backbreaker.

The Creed Brothers would hit the ring and were attacking anyone that was moving, MSK& Imperium alike. Who attacked the Creed Brothers? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
