The partnership between AEW & NJPW is easily one of the most exciting things in professional wrestling. We’ve only seen both companies scratch the surface, as international travel has been tricky. However, a major step was just made in this partnership.
AEW Dynamite & Rampage Are Coming To NJPW World
With no additional cost to subscribers – they will now be able to access full episodes of AEW Dynamite & Rampage on NJPW World. This will come with all new Japanese commentary. Not only does this increase the value of NJPW World – but also starts AEW getting a foothold in Japan. They presently have no TV deal in the region – making this massive for AEW.
This ensures that when AEW stars are able to make their way to Japan – NJPW fans will have a better chance of knowing just who they are. It could even work its way into getting AEW a TV deal in the region – as it could help to boost interest.
Tony Khan Comments On The Forbidden Door In General
Recently, Tony Khan would have the following to say about the Forbidden Door while speaking with Karisa Maxwell of Sporting News.
“Jay White came through the Forbidden Door via our great relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling. You’re clearly a big wrestling fan, Karisa, so you know that New Japan and AEW have put on some great matches together with great wrestlers from AEW going there. Jon Moxley, of course, was the IWGP US Champion and actually, he lost the title to Lance Archer in a Texas Death Match. We’ve seen great wrestlers from New Japan come into AEW. Minoru Suzuki, of course, Tomohiro Ishii, Jay White, KENTA. We’ve had lots of great wrestlers from New Japan and I think we can look forward to more, both ways, through the Forbidden Door.”
The next time the Forbidden Door will get used is this coming Wednesday, as Minoru Suzuki will defend the ROH World Television Championship against Samoa Joe.
