‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers here and we’re set to dive into some spoilery goodies, but these aren’t going to be much fun.
We’re used to seeing characters come and go, and we’re not sure how we feel about trading Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) for Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) to get a redemption arc doesn’t sit well.
Of course, this could be the writers’ redemption for mishandling Ashland’s storyline so badly, so we’re crossing our fingers.
Let’s get to the spoilers!
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday, April 21: A new scam?
We doubt there was any way Ashland could surprise or stun anyone in Genoa City anymore, but it looks like he’s going to do just that to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
The fact he saved Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will leave them speechless, but ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers fully expect Victor to wonder why Ashland was following her.
We think this is where the new storyline will start as Ashland redeemed himself by saving Victoria and all, and it could win her heart back and cause some ulcers for Victor.
Of course, there’s going to be heartbreak to go with this as we’ve lost Rey.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday, April 21: Reluctant messenger
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has been hanging around Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) about as much as he did when they were married — maybe even more — so, it’s understandable that he’ll be the bearer of bad news.
Not only will he be the one to tell Sharon Rey’s dead, but he’ll also be the shoulder for her to cry on as they begin a storyline to bring them back together.
For us, it feels like Ashland was meant to be the one that ran Victoria off the road so he could look like a savior.
But with Rey leaving the show, it gave them a perfect time to add some mystery as Ashland claimed Rey ran them off the road while he could’ve run Victoria and Rey off the road, then turned around to make it look like he was following Victoria.
And then there’s the question of him following her and to what ends. Victor’s going to have a field day with all of these possible angles and conspiracies to follow.
One thing’s for sure, and that’s we’re going to have plenty of Ashland left to spread around.
What do you think? Did Ashland set the accident up or is he legitimate in what happened? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
