The WWE is going all out to promote their newest acquisition and run Tony Kahn’s face in the fact one of AEW’s founding member returned to Vince McMahon.
A recent add on NBC showed Cody Rhodes as the face of Raw and Roman Reigns as the face of Smackdown.
While it makes sense for both, Reigns has earned the distinction after his record setting Universal Championship reign. Cody is, to be fair, a new signing meant to get people’s attention.
There’s a very real possibility Vince could grow tired of him after a few weeks. In fact, many have said six weeks is the magic number. If Cody remains relevant beyond that and not just a mid-carder, he has a chance.

Of course, a fan screen grabbed the add and shared it on social media, and Cody reacted by retweeting the image with the only comment being a listing of Raw and Smackdown.
It’s only fair since the add played during an USFL game, and with Fox and NBC working together to promote the new league, it’s only natural they would promote the WWE at lease once per game.
So far, Cody’s been a WWE darling as he defeated Seth Rollins in a surprise match at WrestleMania 38, and the at both live events this weekend.
The house shows dubbed Saturday Night’s Main Event in Erie, Pennsylvania and the newly minted Sunday Stunner at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York.
Cody’s set to face Rollins in a rematch at WrestleMania Backlash, but he has teased more to come as he’s also accepted a challenge from NXT star Roderick Strong.

But Cody has eyes on the WWE Championship to add the Rhodes name to the list of champions. It’s something his father wasn’t able to do during his time with the company, but with Hulk Hogan and others there it’s not a surprise he didn’t.
The new power couple?
According to reports, Cody is one of the WWE’s highest paid talents, and there’s a rumor his wife, Brandi Rhodes, is in discussion to return to the WWE after saying she wouldn’t follow her husband.
Depending on how things work out, they could become a legitimate power couple in the WWE, especially if they both can win titles.
Their first feud would most likely be with the Miz and Maryse, and it’d be little surprise if they’re booked along the lines of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon during the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Eras.
Will Cody reach such rarified air or will he be pushed aside like so many other talents WWE signed over the years?
