Devin Clark Destroys William Knight And Finishes Him With a Knockout At The UFC Vegas 51

We were all hyped for this bout. It was promising it was potentially a wrestling exhibition, and as we all wanted, it was a chance to see a brutal knockout. Did the fight meet our expectations? Hell yeah, it did.

The first round started with the commentary noticing that both guys fighting, have the ability to end the fight quickly. Both were in great form, in great condition despite their weight, thus both were willing to give 110% to win the fight.

Devin Clark Destroys William Knight And Finishes Him With a Knockout At The UFC Vegas 51

At the start of the round, there were several attempts from the Knightmare to land a strike on Devin Clark’s head – unsuccessfully. Nothing significant didn’t happen at the beginning of the round. The highlight of the first round was definitely the guillotine armbar by the Knightmare. Was it successful? No, it wasn’t. When the Knightmare needed to pull his opponent to the ground since he had him strangled, he chose to just stay in the same position and receive several blows to his torso.

If the Knightmare knew how to feed his hips in and bring Devin down this fight could have been already finished. After 2 minutes of unsuccessful struggle, he released him from the grip and delivered several good shots to his face.

After the first round, we all thought that the outcome is more or less obvious. William Knight had control over Devin Clark for a greater amount of time, therefore he landed several good shots, so it was clear – he had him.

However, we were all surprised in the remaining two rounds. In the second round, Devin took the Knightmare down and delivered many strikes and elbows to his head. The Knightmare did nothing significant in the whole round. In the 3rd minute of round three, Devin struck and the fearsome Knightmare was down. He took advantage of the situation and delivered a right elbow to William’s head. Followed it with a powerful left hook which knocked him straight down.

This was too much for the Knightmare to handle and he was already down. The referee stopped the fight and the win was Devin’s.

A conclusion to the whole situation is that these short-notice fights are really not a smart thing to do. The time required for preparation for a fight like this is not given in vain. You have to do your conditioning, endurance training, etc. If you have been alienated from your preparation time the only way you can end up is on the ground unconscious.

The one and not only example of this situation is the fight between Devin Clark and William Knight. Even though William was strong and bigger than ever his endurance was not at a satisfactory level. In the last round, it seemed like he really just wanted the fight to end. He was suffering.

The moral of the story is to not accept fights on short notice. First make sure you are 100% in your best condition.
