During the Glory By Honor PPV in August 2021 – former two time ROH World Champion RUSH would be taken out of action. While teaming with his brother Dragon Lee to face then ROH World Champion Bandido and Rey Horu – RUSH would suffer a knee injury. This put him out of action for the rest of 2021, and meant he was not factored into plans around Final Battle 2021, or the ROH reboot show Supercard of Honor 2022. However, RUSH is now set to return – and potentially take the wrestling world by storm once again.
Making His In-Ring Return In Mexico City
RUSH will make his in-ring return teaming with his father La Bestia del Ring and a mystery partner versus Chris Masters, L.A. Park and Marco Corleone (formerly known as WWE’s Mark Jindrak). This will all go down in the main event of Robles Promotions’ show on April 29 in Mexico City.
No word on his mystery partner at this time, but fans are hoping to see Dragon Lee fit into the match alongside his father & brother. This is a fairly expected return for RUSH – and while this is a show on a much smaller scale, it’s an easy way for RUSH to get back into the mix ahead of potentially bigger things in his 2022.
RUSH Has A Way Into Two Major Promotions
Being a longtime friend of Andrade El Idolo might help to influence his future moves in professional wrestling. Both RUSH & brother Dragon Lee are incredibly talented workers, as shown by their previous runs in Ring of Honor. Giving them the bigger spotlight of a company like AEW would potentially help to create a set of stars for both AEW & ROH programming.
There is also a chance he makes his way over to Japan, and buddies up with Los Ingobernables De Japon. L.I.J are currently down a man with SANADA injured, and RUSH has been brought to Japan in the past for tournaments like World Tag League and the G1 Climax. Getting into the 2022 G1 would be huge for RUSH, and could set the tone for the rest of his year with some incredible matches.
