There have been ongoing rumors that there have been some conversations between the UFCs head Dana White and the controversial YouTuber Jake Paul.
It is no secret that Dana White is a known moneymaker and knows when he smelled money. The popularity of the UFC in the last months has been raising constantly. This is due to the drama which is surrounding it on daily basis.
Jake Paul Joins The UFC?!
Dana managed to turn the biggest MMA promotion into the biggest soap drama. This does not mean that the quality of the fights is facing a decline, this only means that the followers are in greater number now. The drama which surrounds it is so magnifying and addictive that if you have the slightest interest in MMA you cannot resist but read and watch the new UFC happenings.
What better way to endorse this drama than employing people who are popular and controversial themselves. Take Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, Jon Jones, and Anderson Silva for example.
A great addition to this – drama-wise – would be the famous YouTuber, Jake Paul. Nevertheless, he wants to join the UFC as well. However, in order to do so, the amateur has three main conditions.
1st condition – UFC fighters must get 50% of the UFC’s annual revenues, which would be a massive increase.
2nd condition – the fighter’s minimum pay must rise to $50k per fight. This is a raise of almost $40k.
3rd condition – the UFC must provide long-term health care to its fighters
As you can see, the conditions are not of personal nature. The conditions are generally fighter-oriented and would present a MASSIVE improvement on the current UFC situation.
The inexperienced Jake Paul knows where to aim. He says he is willing to fight the Gamebred! He would fight Jorge Masvidal.
In our eyes, even though this would be a great show, we already know the outcome. Masvidal would destroy him in a matter of minutes, if not seconds.
Jake Paul might be powerful and might have boxing skills, but when it comes to MMA, I clearly doubt that he can keep up with the wrestling, or Brasilian JiuJitsu background of the Gamebred.
Since it would be an interesting quick fight, we might enjoy watching it for the thrill of it. However, I feel that it would not offer anything which will be a “WOW” fighting style-wise.
To conclude, if the conditions did not exist – this would have been a great win for only one man. That would be Dana White. He would make the profit of his life.
However, with the conditions on the table, I think that this is not so likely to happen. But who knows, Jake might change his mind and accept a fight for a considerable amount of money. As they all usually do.
