The 40 year old Lina “Elbow Queen” Lansberg is one of the best women Bantamweight fighters in the world. She has been active in the UFC since 2016. Her professional record is 10-5-0. Her fighting background is Muay Thai and kickboxing and she has proven to be very effective and powerful striker.
For her debut return the UFC arranged a fight in the UFC Vegas 51 Event against Pannie Kianzad. The thrill was real. The fans were enthusiastic to see in what form she will appear, to see whether she will endure the fight and whether she has changed after becoming a mother.
Lina Lansberg Is Back To The UFC After Giving Birth. Did She Disappoint Her Fans? She Lost From Pannie Kianzad At The UFC Vegas 51
Lena was facing Kianzad ten years after their first fight back in 2012. Back in 2012, the fight was the first professional appearance of Lina Lansberg in the MMA world. She lost the fight in the 3rd round by a TKO and this left her ‘bruise’ on her career. After the debut she made a streak of six straight wins where she proved herself to be a true professional and worthy for the UFC.
Having this memory of the loss for 10 years, she was willing to give 100% from herself to win the fight. Unfortunately, despite several attempts for a KO, she lost by unanimous decision. However, even though the points recorded by the judges were in Pannie Kianzad’s favor, Lia Lansberg was the ‘people’s winner’.
Standing ovations and loud chanting greeted her and sent her back to the behind stage, presenting the support from the UFC fans for her.
This fight painted a clear picture of the level of readiness of both fighters, but especially of Lina Lansberg. In her two year pause she managed to give birth, raise a child, go back to training, condition, get back in top form and take a fight with her first nemesis. This girl deserves all the respect that can be given to her. Hats down to her.
Lina Lansberg managed to endure 3 rounds and even knock her opponent down several times. Among the other things, Pannie Kianzad walked out of the octagon missing two front teeth, with bloody face and evidently tired and damaged.
At the post fight press conference she even confessed that at one point in the fight she lost consciousness and ‘woke up’ on the ground.
“In the second round I felt really good then I found myself on the ground. I couldn’t understand… did I get knocked out? It was really fast so I believe she could have won the round but I took it back right after that so I didn’t feel it was super-meaningful. If I was still on the ground and being punched that would have been bad.” – said Pannie.
Details like this were the key points of the fight. Fractions of a second determined who will win.
This time again, it was Pannie Kianzad. Will she honor her archenemy with a third rematch down the road? Will Lina Lansberh have her third good luck charm fight?
Finally, all we can say is that she did perform great. She put up with her opponent in great fashion. She made her pay for the win and lastly, both of them delivered a great watching show.
