Prince William had allegedly told a nanny that he would punish her when we became King.
Naughty Prince William Told His Nanny He Would Punish Her When He Became King
That is according to Royal author Tina Brown in her book entitled “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor–the Truth and the Turmoil.”
This incident was alleged to have occurred when William was a toddler. And during that time, he was known for being a very rebellious child.
Fast forward today, nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, such a charge could be more aptly directed against Prince Harry, who has shown a tendency to rebel following his exit from the Royal family in 2020 and his conduct in the aftermath.
In her book, Tina wrote: “By the time he was four, he had the unattractive habit of yapping at his nanny, Barbara Barnes, ‘No one tells me what to do! When I am king I will have you punished.”
These actions did get William the nickname of ‘Wombat.’ This was based on his behaviour of running around all over the place. And by the looks of it, he did leave a mess wherever he went.
Tina expanded on how the young prince would often break things in addition to apparently using a water gun against some security guards.
And yet, William did not look like a boy who was capable of that. In the picture here, we can see him with Prince Harry and their late mother Princess Diana as they pose for a picture.
They are next to a piano, as they get ready to play it. And they all have huge smiles on their faces, as they could not be any happier. But it was around the age of six when things started to change.
William had mellowed down, as Harry took on the mantle of being the mischievous one. And that has arguably stayed with Harry to this day.
Tina’s following comments confirmed the transition from the well-behaved Harry into the “exuberant imp of misrule.” Clearly, things have not changed much then. So there you have it folks.
