Prince Charles Tells Children To Think About Nature
A video was released by the prince’s foundation at Dumfries House in Scotland which has its focus on educating children on sustainability; hence it is not surprising that the prince is inspiring young children to think about nature when they think about their future.
Prince Of Wales Sets a Challenge For Children To Celebrate Earth Day
In the released video, the prince read out the forward of a book titled “It’s Up to Us” which was written by Christopher Lloyd and published in the UK in 2021. The book explains nature, people and means to which the planet can be safeguarded. The prince then went ahead to explain what his challenge for young children would be.
“What the world needs is for children all around it to imagine the type of future you want to build.” He further explained that he loved to paint and draw and therefore he implored children to “take out a blank piece of paper to draw, paint or write about the future” that they would like to see.
He added that if they do this while putting nature at the heart of everything that they do, ideas can be shared with as many people as possible and “together we can help make our planet strong and healthy for generations to come,” he said.
With the Prince’s passion on making the environment free of climate crisis, deforestation and pollution; over the years, he has launched various initiatives aimed at addressing these issues, and many of these initiatives have had quite sustainable results.
The most recent is the Food for Future programme which was launched in 2021 with the goal of educating young children on how the food system works, with the belief that knowing this would help them understand the environmental impact. The first project which is to come to an end in three days is to be extended. This shows measurable growth of the programme.
