Brooklyn Beckham, 23, married Nicola Peltz, 27, on Saturday, April 9. While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were excluded from the guest list, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton received a personal invitation from the groom’s parents.
Brooklyn, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, wed Nicola, the daughter of a billionaire businessman and the heiress to his fortune, during an extravagant ceremony at the bride’s family home in West Palm Beach, Florida. The bride donned a stunning Valentino bridal gown and singer Marc Anthony performed during the spectacular $3.5 million event.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘Snubbed’ from Brooklyn Beckham’s Wedding while Prince William Made the Guest List
The palatial party included over 600 of the couple’s closest friends and family along with a few familiar faces. The star-studded celebration boasted an impressive array of celebrities in attendance, including Venus and Serena Williams, Eva Longoria, Gordon Ramsay, Snoop Dogg, and Victoria’s former ‘Spice Girls’ bandmates.
The Beckham family has a lengthy history with the Royal Family and it was expected that they would extend both Prince William and Prince Harry an invitation to Brooklyn’s nuptials. David and Victoria were present at both William’s wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011, as well as Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018.
Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge did receive a personalized invite to the Beckham-Peltz wedding but they unfortunately weren’t able to make it.
According to sources, “David and Victoria wrote to William and Kate inviting them and the family to their son’s wedding, and William replied wishing them a great deal of joy but they are unable to attend.”
But noticeably absent from the big day were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who were not only absent from the festivities, they were snubbed from the guest list all together.
It has been widely speculated that due to the discord between Prince William and Prince Harry, the Beckhams decided to extend an invitation to only one of the brothers. They opted for Prince William in hopes that he and Kate could attend, while completely shutting out Prince Harry and Meghan.
The reason for the Beckhams prioritizing William over Harry may be simple, as they have a longer, deeper relationship with William and Kate.
“David’s attachment and history go back with William and Kate and they have a very strong relationship and they were their choice of wedding guests,” said a source.
Prince Harry and Meghan are polarizing figures to say the least. The pair has often been the subject of scrutiny since publicly speaking out against the Royal Family in 2020.
