Prince Harry’s popularity in the UK has declined ever since he married Meghan Markle.

That is according to a survey conducted by Ipsos. The findings indicated that Harry’s popularity had declined by 35 percent in comparison to the same study that had occurred in 2018 prior to Harry tying the knot.
The survey was from a cross section of society with people aged between 16-75 participating. Much in the same way, the same could be said of Meghan Markle too.
The study further adds that her popularity had fallen by 16 percent in comparison to another study conducted in 2018. To make matters even more embarrassing, only Prince Andrew had performed worse.
A mammoth 69% of people declared their disapproval towards him, which is not a surprise given his recent sexual assault allegation involving Virginia Giuffre.
But in reality, Harry and Meghan did not do themselves any favours. They clearly shot themselves in the foot when they decided to not attend Prince Philip’s memorial.
And given that even Prince Andrew had shown up, especially since his troubles in the public arena, people were of the view that this move was very disrespectful.
In addition, they have not returned to the UK as a couple ever since they left the Royal family in 2020. Therefore, it is entirely understandable for the public to feel that they are no longer relevant.
In comparison, Prince William and Kate Middleton have taken on a bigger role in the Royal family, especially in light of Queen Elizabeth’s deteriorating health, which has only worked against Harry and Meghan.
And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. A significant proportion of people were not surprised by the findings, while there was even suggestions that their approval ratings were going to continue getting worse.
One person wrote: “People stopped caring when they left the royal family. Now they are just two rich people doing zoom calls pretending they are experts on 100 different topics. Very odd.”
