Prince Harry has had a seemingly tense relationship with his stepmother long before he and Meghan Markle decided to leave the Royal Family. According to body language expert Judi James, Harry often appeared agitated with the Duchess of Cornwall during public appearances.
The youngest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana allegedly “can’t stand” Camilla and their relationship will likely be discussed in Harry’s upcoming memoir, creating an even deeper divide between him and the Royals.
Prince Harry Showed Signs of Tension with Camilla For YEARS Leading Up To Megxit, Body Language Expert Claims
Prince Harry, 37, has always been expected to maintain public appearances, but some insist that his feelings towards Camilla are anything but cordial. Once Harry began distancing himself from the Prince of Wales, his disdain for certain Royals became even more noticeable.
‘It looks very much as though Harry needed an alienation from his father before he dropped some of the social niceties with Camilla,’ James explained.
There was ‘clear friction’ at Charles and Camilla’s wedding in 2005, where Harry physically distanced himself from the group in photos. The discomfort was palpable all around, as even Queen Elizabeth showed signs of ‘stoicism and teeth-gritting’.
‘Both William and the Queen are sporting’ intentional gesture’ smiles, a baring of the teeth that looks too forced to be authentic but which shows a desire to be seen to be sociable and polite,’ said James.
Further signs of dismay were evident at the Trooping of the Colour in 2015, where Harry assumed a sense of regality but still avoided eye contact with Camilla. ‘Harry seems to avoid going beyond the levels of polite duty,’ the body language expert declared.
There was also a sense of disharmony amongst the Royal Family at the centenary of the Royal Air Force in 2018, where Harry and Meghan have clearly separated themselves from Prince Charles, Camilla and the Queen. ‘The signals of simmering unhappiness and even resentment or anxiety are appearing obvious in Harry’s body language,’ maintained Judi.
The roles were reversed by 2019 when Prince Charles and Camilla attended the christening of Harry and Meghan’s son, Archie. While the proud parents appeared jovial and at ease during the event, Camilla displayed signs of ‘inner tension’.
According to Princess Diana’s biographer, Tina Brown, Prince Harry will surely air all of his grievances with the Royal Family in his forthcoming memoir, which will also discuss his strained relationship with Prince William. ‘William was disgusted about Meghan’s attack on Kate because she can’t answer back. But that’s nothing compared to how furious he’s going to be when this book comes out,’ claimed Brown.
Harry received at least $20 million upfront for his highly-anticipated memoir, to be published by Penguin Random House. Many expect that Harry will expose secrets of the Royal Family that they never thought would be made public.
