When it comes to glamorous weddings Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are certainly up there with the best of them. After all their wedding hosted probably as many celebrities as the Oscars, minus any violent encounters. What about Prince William and Kate Middleton – why were they not in attendance?
It certainly has become one of the hottest topics in Hollywood ever since the couple celebrated their nuptials over the weekend on April 9 at one of Peltz’s family mansions in Palm Springs, Florida, reportedly worth a whopping £76 million. Of course, a wedding of that magnitude should be expected from the pair who are very well known in celeb circles.
The Real Reason The Royals Didn’t Attend Brooklyn Beckham And Nicola Peltz Star-Studded Wedding
After all, 23-year-old Brooklyn is the son of David and Victoria, while 27-year-old Nicola comes from a pretty loaded family. Her parents are billionaire businessman Nelson and Claudia, who is a former model. Reports suggest that the couple dropped a cool £15 million on the star-studded event.
What most people noticed though was that even with all the Hollywood stars that showed up, no one from the royal family attended the event. Back in 2011, Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, invited David and Victoria to their wedding and the two families seem to have a close relationship.
However, according to The Mirror, the royal couple declined the invitation from the Beckhams but gave little reason as to why. The publication also said that a close source revealed that: “David and Victoria wrote to William and Kate inviting them and the family to their son’s wedding, and Prince William replied wishing them a great deal of joy but they are unable to attend.”
There was also some mention of security issues that seemingly could not be resolved in time for the royals to attend.
Even though, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, no longer have their official titles they are still considered A-list celebrities but it seems they weren’t invited at all. In fact, it appears that the Beckhams gave it a lot of thought but in the end decided to invite Prince William and Kate.
The same source is quoted as saying: “It was always about them, it was never about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. They are the people David and Victoria are attached to and it’s always been about them because they’ve had a long history together.”
Nevertheless, many A-listers turned up for the highly anticipated event. The guest list was certainly dripping with stardom.
Anyway, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were snubbed but of course Prince William and Kate Middleton were invited – clearly the Beckhams know the difference between the real thing and the fake.
