Even though Charles Oliviera will not go home with the belt that he already had, he will go home victorious from one of the most anticipated matches in UFC history.
The world is in shock once again as he makes the headlines of all sports media tabloids. He destroyed Justin Gaethje and delivers a submission in the first round.
Charles Oliveira Destroys Justin Gaethje – Delivers A Submission In First Round
Charles Oliviera is still the best in the division. There is no doubt in it at all. That is proven with his 11th consecutive win at the UFC 274 event. His professional record is now 33-8-1.
As always, ‘Do Bronx’ started aggressively, pushing Gaethje more and more and seeking a clear shot to get close to him. And he eventually got it. In the first round!
These are the most exciting 3 and a half minutes in the MMA sport recently. And here is a short breakdown of what happened.
Both fighters start blasting each other with powerful shots. Exchanging blows to the head and body in a most brutal manner. Gaethje starts the fight with a big leg kick, and that was seemingly a hurting point for Oliveira. However, Oliveira turns around and delivers a powerful right. Gaethje counters with a powerful uppercut and brings Oliveira down, but he is not able to keep him there. After Oliveira is on his feet again, they start exchanging some close combat shots.
Both of them were hoping to not be the first to fall, but a fall eventually happened. After discharging a powerful straight right hand, Oliveira knocked Justin Gaethje down. This was a sign that the challenger starts to lose his edge. Justin had a desperate try to get on his feet and put himself together, however, he was unable to do so. Oliveira, as fast and fierce as he is, charged at him immediately and took his back from where he delivered a rear-naked choke.
After his win, he was declared the number one contender for the lightweight title, kissed Dana White on the forehead, and left the octagon in a champion fashion.
“Hey, hey, there’s something missing here. The champion has a name and it’s Charles Oliveira from the Bronx. This is a message for the entire division. I’m a problem for the entire division!” – the unjust champion shouts after the win.
Oliveira, who missed the weight by half a pound, added another win to his record.
And please do not start with the ‘he was not in the weight class nonsense’. He is heavier than Gaethje by half a pound. By a glass of water symbolically speaking.
His win was fair and square. Now that he will be given a chance to re-claim his belt, we wait to see who will the UFC arrange for him. Will it be Conor McGregor? Will it be Islam Makhachev?
Whoever it is it will be interesting to see him try to stop Do Bronx. As he proves after this bout, he is indeed unstoppable.
