We’ve seen and heard Joe Rogan the podcaster speak about Khabib Nurmagomedov. It is evident that he is an admirer of his skills and fighting potential. He expresses his belief that the Chechnyan is one of the best fighters in UFC history. And we can all agree that the fashion in which he left the promotion is one of a kind. He went, won against everybody that was put against him, and retired as an undisputed winning fighter.
“He’s on another level and that’s one of the things that happens when you are a beast. I mean, you got to realize that guy has supreme discipline. Supremely dedicated like doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t fuck around, doesn’t abuse his body always fit.” – Joe Rogan says.
Joe Rogan Says Khabib Nurmagomedov Is Not Able To Defeat Charles Oliveira
Praising his living style he concluded: “Khabib is always in shape, always training, and lives like a champion. And he is a religious guy. Like extremely devout Muslim. No partying, he’s not partying at all, he’s not doing coke or banging hoes. He’s none of that. He is just smashing people.”
However, in a recent episode of his podcast, he revealed that even though he thinks highly of Khabib, he thinks that he would not be able to win against Charles Oliveira.
“Gaethje tapped and then he went out. But the way Nurmagomedov did it, he went through him. He went right through him. I think Khabib could do that to almost anybody, except maybe Charles Oliveira.”
It is true that Oliviera has some losses earlier in his career, however, he is not someone to be played with. He is 32-8-1 and he hasn’t lost a fight since 2017. Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, and Tony Ferguson, all share a loss to Oliviera in common.
“People don’t think of Oliveira as a monster because there are times that people have beaten him. Like Paul Felder destroyed him and there were a lot of guys who beat him. Cub Swanson delivered a KO to him. He lost to guys, but he is better now.”
And it is evidently true. The lightweight is now in his reign. He is a serious opponent.
For the next UFC event, UFC 274, he is about to fight Justin Gaethje. If he manages to win, it will be additional proof of his abilities. Justin Gaethje is a serious player. He has a record of 23-3-0 and is one of the best lightweight fighters in the sport.
Since Rogan brought it up on the podcast, it sparked the curiosity of many people. Is Khabib able to win over Charles Oliveira?
Even though we would be very interested to see what would happen in such a bout, we might never find out. The Chechen is long past his retirement. He said that he is not willing to fight anymore. And we all know that when he says something he sticks to it.
