Meghan Markle was spotted laying some roses for the victims of the Texas school shooting at Robb Elementary School, Texas.
Meghan Accused Of PR Stunt After Placing Roses For The Texas School Shooting Victims-‘Why Doesn’t She Go Visit Her Father Who Had A Stroke ? No Cameras ?’
The tragedy left a reported 19 children and two adults dead. And in order to pay her respects, Meghan was on hand to lay down some white roses.
In the pictures here, we can see that Meghan has arrived with a baseball cap, jeans and a white t-shirt. She bends down to place the flowers, with a forlorn expression on her face.
And as she did so, Markle refused to engage with any reporters while being accompanied by her bodyguard. Although her intentions were noble on the surface, a certain subset of people questioned her motives.
The presence of reporters may have been more than just coincidental in light of Harry and Meghan’s attempts to document every move at poignant moments.
Case in point, the presence of a Netflix crew at the Invictus Games showing disabled military personnel competing.
Not only that, but when Meghan has failed to reach out to her father, Thomas Markle, following his hospitalisation with a stroke, surely that should have been her first priority.
After all, seeing lives being lost should have reinforced that point. But the absence of any cameras, in that regard, has raised questions over her true motives for attending the Texas shooting memorial.
And this was the sentiment being expressed on social media. People began to call out Megan for her hypocritical nature and demanded that she addressed problems closer to home.
One person wrote: “Why doesn’t she go visit her Father who had a stroke ? No cameras ?” In Meghan’s defence, a spokesperson on her behalf has issued a statement declaring the Duchess’ real intentions.
And it was Meghan’s understanding of being a mother that drove her to attend. In a statement, a representative said: “[She came] in a personal capacity as a mother [and offer] her condolences and support in person.”
