Meghan Markle has spoken on her support for working mothers by setting up a new initiative to provide childcare support.
Meghan Markle Blasted After Speaking Up For Working Mothers-‘What The Hell Would She Know’
Meghan, for her part, is well aware of what it takes to be a working mother after having had two children herself. While it is true to say that she may not experience the hardship that other mothers may do, her following initiative will no doubt be welcomed.
She has decided to work alongside the ‘Marshall Plan for Moms the National Business Coalition for Child Care’ organisation as part of her Archwell Foundation’s latest project.
And given that the former organization found that a reported 69 percent of women consider childcare as an important factor when taking up a job, Meghan felt this was an issue that needed to be tackled.
In her comments, she said: “Families everywhere, and especially working moms, are asked to shoulder so much.
“This has only been heightened by the pandemic, with increased caregiving responsibilities, rising prices, and economic uncertainty.”
This policy does fit in line with Meghan’s earlier support for another cause. She had also written a letter to the House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi in order to show her support for paid parental leave in the United States.
While Meghan did receive a significant amount of backlash on the basis that she was interfering in US politics, one thing it does show is that Meghan is keen on lending her support for working families.
She added: “Today, we’re sending a message that childcare isn’t just a community imperative – it’s a business imperative.”
Nevertheless, the reaction from the fans on social media was very hostile. People were of the view that Meghan’s comments were out of touch since she is now from a life of privilege.
One person wrote: “What the hell would she know about being a working mum.” Time will tell whether Meghan does end up delivering on her promises. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
