Back at WrestleMania 38, fans were able to see some incredible matches. However, two matches didn’t quite hit right – with fans noting that two of the first announced matches were among the worst. Both Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar & Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey were set up as early as the 2022 Royal Rumble – yet they failed to deliver a promising build, or conclusion. Another thing they had in common was they were produced in part by Pat Buck – who left the company immediately following WrestleMania.
Pat Buck Wanted To Be In A Role Where He Could Be Around His Family
Following a recent match with Joey Janela, we’d see Pat Buck shed some extra light on just why he jumped ship from WWE to AEW. He didn’t have anything bad to say about WWE, but he missed both his actual and Create-A-Pro family.
“I was blessed to be with WWE for three years, as a producer, as an agent, helping mold the minds of talent and being part of moments I’d never be a part of, but I missed this school too much and I missed two of my families. My first one, my darling wife Lauren, she’s here with the baby. It was a tremendous experience going on the road, five or six days a week, sometimes you have to put your priorities ahead of your love.
My wife and kid are my major love right there. My second family is the family that you guys are all a part of and that’s the Wrestle Pro family, the Create-A-Pro family, the Independent wrestling family. I’m blessed to be part of an even better opportunity by a place that respects and show appreciation, and that’s AEW, for this family.”
Since leaving WWE, he has returned to coaching at Create-A-Pro, something he is able to do in addition to working for AEW due to their less intense schedule.
