Due to Queen Elizabeth’s mobility issues, she has had to assign roles to different Royals to stand in for her as she can’t be present in all events especially with the upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Buckingham Palace announced earlier this month that the Queen would not be attending any of the four tea parties.
The Palace said in a statement that the Queen “will be represented by other members of the Royal Family at this year’s garden parties, with details on attendance to be confirmed.”
Prince William, Kate, Prince Edward And Princess Beatrice Stood In For The Queen At Tea Party
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Edward, Sophie and some others have been chosen to represent the Queen at the function. The working Royals are expected to have about 8,000 visitors who have been invited to the tea party for being incredible members of the community.
Although the Queen is not fully back on her feet, she has made a few appearances. One was on Monday where she was at the Chelsea Flower Show as she visited some gardens. She was however taken around in a golf buggy. Regarding this, a spokesperson for the palace stated that “adjustments have been made for the Queen’s comfort.”
On three other occasions, the Queen was seen in public. On may 17, she launched the Elizabeth line at Paddington Station. She was also present on the second day of the Royal Windsor Horse show where she watched her horses race and she related with members of the public from the Range rover she was in It also seems that despite the Queen’s issues with mobility, she still performs her Head of state and Head of Commonwealth duties.
This became clear as a picture of the Queen shaking hands with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Hamad Al Thani was posted on instagram. Reactions from Royal fans show that many of them were delighted to see the Queen.
