When it comes to professional wrestling, there are few names more legendary than Ric Flair. He’s a noted 16 time world champion, and is constantly in the conversation as one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots. However, at 73 years old – Flair is once again looking to hit the ring.

Ric Flair Intends To Wrestle For First Time Since 2011, Is Training For Potential In-Ring Return

Earlier today, this would be reported as part of this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Rumours have been floating around, and footage of Flair working through some basic holds with Jay Lethal recently surfaced. Now, Dave Meltzer has confirmed that these rumours are true – and Ric Flair is looking to return to the ring for the first time in over a decade. As it currently stands, Ric Flair last wrestled in 2011, where he defeated long-time rival Sting on an episode of Impact Wrestling. Since then, he was working in WWE – and got physical on a few occasions, to help out his daughter Charlotte Flair.

Flair & AEW’s Sammy Guevara Have Been Building Up A Potential Match

It’s unclear what the end-goal for Ric Flair is with an in-ring return, but he was trying to build up a match against AEW’s Sammy Guevara recently – and working alongside Jay Lethal could show some links to AEW. In AEW, he could even once again face his legendary rival of Sting – who has been active on the roster since 2020, and has shown fans that sometimes, age is just a number. When it comes to wrestling, provided the body of Flair can hold up – he can probably work through a match on instincts alone. Add in some strong character work, and an opponent to do the heavy lifting – and you have a potential situation that could be better than expected. Do you think Ric Flair will actually find himself in another match? Should he stay retired? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below. A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
