Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s desire to replicate the Obama family has suffered a massive blow.
Royal Expert Claims Harry and Meghan’s Dreams Of Emulating The Obamas Are Over-‘That’s All Been Thrown Out Of The Window.’
That is according to Royal expert Richard Eden. This claim was made in response to the couple’s recent decision to go ahead with a Netflix docuseries that will attempt to showcase the intimate part of their lives.
But aside from this series, the couple’s content for Netflix has not generated much. Meghan’s cartoon series ‘Pearl’ was canceled, while a release date for this docuseries has not been confirmed.
And unlike the Obamas, who have continued to live off handsomely in the aftermath of the presidency, Harry and Meghan have fallen short of that since leaving the Royal family.
In an interview on the Palace Confidential podcast, Richard said: “I think that Harry and Meghan when they signed this multi-million pound deal with Netflix, envisaged themselves as like the Obamas who’d be commissioning these really worthy series.
“That’s all been thrown out of the window.” With the couple not having had as much success as they may have hoped for, there is the possibility that the duo may end up opening up their private lives more.
This could be borne out through their children coming on camera, especially since that is something that the public have not seen too much of.
That is a possibility, but it would appear hypocritical especially since they had spoken about wanting their children to have a semblance of normality away from the media. And yet, Richard has not ruled that out from happening.
He added: “They’ve always been keen to keep the children out of the public eye,..so I’m sure Netflix, if they’re paying that money, would expect to see the children as well.”
Whether the Netflix docuseries is a hit is anyone’s guess, but if it does end up suffering from poor ratings, then there will be serious question marks over the couple’s brand.
