Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are only attending Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in order to improve their brand.
Royal Expert Suggests Harry And Meghan’s Appearance At The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Is To Improve Their Brand-‘A Guy In Blue Jeans, With A Ginger Beard…Isn’t Very Marketable’
That is according to Royal expert Hugo Vickers. It is fair to say that the couple are not as big as the Royal family.
But this is hardly surprising, given that they have only had two years to set up something noteworthy since their departure from the Royal family in 2020.
But after confirmation that they will be attending, along with their kids Archie and Lilibet, the British public will have the opportunity to see the couple as a full family unit in the UK for the first time.
But given that reports indicate that the pair could be joined by a Netflix crew, they have been called out for visiting under false pretences: that being not to see their family.
In his comments to ‘The Royal Beat,’ Hugo said: “I think it’s entirely to do with branding.
“The further away that he [Harry] gets from the Royal Family, he turns into a guy in blue jeans, with a ginger beard, coming off a plane with a backpack on. Which isn’t very marketable in my point of view.”
And yet, if those are the couple’s aspirations, then they have already suffered a huge blow. Further reports stressed that the pair have been banned from appearing on the palace balcony.
And they have joined the company of Prince Andrew, who has also been dealt with via the same approach.
Therefore, at a time where the duo could have gotten mass exposure due to the event being a celebration of the monarch’s 70th year in charge, Harry and Meghan could end up no longer being relevant.
Russell Myers, who happens to be the editor of The Mirror, equally added: “There is pressure from Netflix, who have dropped Meghan’s debut show Pearl [and] I think they are potentially struggling to stay relevant.”
