Rapper Travis Scott is getting back into the swing of performing live but now he has a new Astroworld Festival-related lawsuit on his hands. Shanazia Williamson is suing Scott for the unlawful death of her child, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Travis Scott Is Being Sued for an Astroworld Festival-Related Miscarriage
She attended the festival in November 2021 and claims to have been one of the victims caught in a stampede that left many injured and ten dead. In her lawsuit immediately following the tragedy, she states that she received back, chest, leg, shoulder, and stomach injuries as a result.
That claim was filed on November 12, 2021. A month-and-a-half later, her lawsuit was amended to include wrongful death. Williamson’s claim notes that negligence on multiple fronts “was a direct and proximate cause of Shanazia’s injuries and death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child.”

Since she included the injuries to her stomach in the original claim and Texas law allows for people to sue if a miscarriage is a result of negligence. It’s also important to note that the state’s law is particularly flexible as it doesn’t matter how long a woman is in her pregnancy or if the fetus was viable or not, if negligence is involved, a lawsuit can be filed.
The other defendants in the lawsuit include ASM Global, Live Nation, and Scoremore Holdings. Recently, Travis Scott performed at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards after host and executive producer Diddy “uncanceled” the disgraced rapper as well as country music singer Morgan Wallen.
