Ella even role played for him some times. The duo made a plan for Johnny to travel to America to be with her so they could see how their relationship would work out. Unfortunately.

Some things were holding Johnny back. The Asian man’s parents depended in him financially, and they also took care of his son, so he didn’t want to leave them. The pandemic was also raging on and Johnny was worried about getting stuck in America.
He was also worried about leaving a well-paying job and did not know how he would survive without the money. Ella told him that she cheated on him due to the fact that he wasn’t around, and he forgave her. However, during the Tell-all, he looked really hurt. Ella shared after that they had an open relationship, so she didn’t expect him to be angry.
Ella and Johnny featured on the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff 90 Day Diaries where fans continued to watch them navigate their relationship. In Touch Weekly reported that the Asian man faced more challenges. He needed a certain clearance to leave his job or he would never be eligible to work in China. This was taking too long, and Ella was beginning to panic. However, a recent episode in 90 Day Diaries, Ella is sad because Johnny cannot get an approval of resignation, so he had to delay his trip. An unhappy Ella said, “I am willing to wait for him because he really is an amazing person and I love him. But I mean, if he wants to wait until 2023, I have to be done.” So, no one is sure if the duo will ever get to meet in America.
