Originally, we were set to see a Triangle Ladder match tonight over the AEW World Tag Team Championships. However, Jeff Hardy being arrested following a DUI has changed plans, as Hardy is suspended without pay – and his AEW status is up in the air. Now, Young Bucks & Jurassic Express will still get the ladder match – with the tag titles hanging high above the ring. Even without Matt & Jeff Hardy in the mix, this is set to be an absolutely insane match – with Jurassic Express truly entering Young Bucks world with this match.
Young Bucks Are Ladder Day Saints As Jurassic Express Enter 8th Title Defense
With the belts hanging high above the ring, this one would start fast with Young Bucks taking down Jungle Boy before Luchasarus hit a running lariat. Tables & Ladders were at ringside, but a wrecking ball dropkick prevented Luchasaurus from grabbing a ladder. Jungle Boy got a ladder in, before hitting a super poionsonrana.
He’d try to climb the ladder, but was stopped by Young Bucks. Luchasarus would hit the ring, but Bucks took him down again. Jungle Boy picked up the pace before being caught into the locomotive Northern Lights suplexes into the ladder. Bucks set up a suplex through a table, but Luchasaurus made the save.
Matt Jackson would be driven through the table with a hurricanrana, before Nick Jackson powerbombed Jungle Boy through one. Luchasarus took a Canadian Destroyer, PK, and 450 Splash through a table. Holy shit chants broke out all throughout the arena, before morphing into “This is Awesome” and for good reason.
Back in the ring, Young Bucks would place Jungle Boy on a ladder, before a Swanton Bomb. At ringside, four tables were stacked up – the Bucks having something in mind. A bulldog dropkick combo would stagger Jungle Boy, but not enough for a powerbomb over the ropes.
First Ever Two Time Champions
Jungle Boy went for a moonsault, before taking a superkick party. Luchasarus hit the ring and caught the brothers with Chokeslams before trying to climb. Matt grabbed a choke, but Luchasaurus would keep climbing. All four men would get on ladders and trade blows, but no one grabbed gold.
Young Bucks would maintain control, and Luchasarus was put through a table with the elbow drop. Jungle Boy & Matt started to climb, with Matt touching the belts before being pulled to the mat for a German Suplex. Fighting alone, Jungle Boy would almost take a BTE Trigger on the ladder, before he’d shove them down. Luchasarus tried to climb, but was put through 4 tables with a simple ladder tilt.
Jungle Boy sense the urgency and climbed, before being yanked down and the BTE Trigger landed. We have new and the first ever Two Time AEW World Tag Team Champions – The Young Bucks! Christian Cage would add insult to injury, flipping the Killswitch on Jungle Boy after the match Con-Chair-To would follow, with Christian finally turning heel.
