Toni Storm hasn’t been in AEW very long, but she might already be ready to hold the AEW Women’s World Championship. She will face reigning champion Thunder Rosa here tonight, who is still trying to find her rhythm as champion. This is the sole female match on Forbidden Door, but these two ladies are fixing to steal the show. An impressive career in NJPW’s sister promotion STARDOM saw Storm achieve Cinderella Tournament and 5☆Grand Prix victories, as well as the World of STARDOM Championship. Will the AEW Women’s World title be next?

Thunder Rosa Notches Another Successful Defence To Her Reign

Storm & Rosa would lock up hard to start this match, with Rosa moving into the wrist lock. Storm would block into the headscissor, and Rosa popped out. It was a stalemate to begin, before Rosa grabbed the wrist and hit a shoulder tackle. Storm would be taken to the mat, but a PK was blocked into a roll up.

Rosa would avoid a kick from Storm, before being taken down into a double armbar. Inside cradle would be the counter, but Storm kicked out – before both ladies traded heavy strikes. Rosa would hit a stunner, a new move in her arsenal – before a knee strike and set of rope hung dropkicks.

Storm would be rolled up into a double stomp, before Rosa would look for a submission. Storm would roll to the outside, before taking a quick suplex. Rosa would look for the Death Valley Driver on the apron, before Storm blocked the Tornado DDT onto the floor.

Running hip attack would land in the ring, before another DDT right into a pinfall for two. Rosa would hit an armbreaker before Death Valley Driver in the middle of the ring. Fire Thunder Driver would follow, and Rosa would only get a two count!

PK would be blocked into a German Suplex, before the Storm Zero was set. Final Reconoking would be the counter, and Rosa remains AEW Women’s World Champion.

OC Is Back To 100% Power

Will Ospreay is still fresh in his reign as IWGP United States Champion, and never could have expected that his first challenger would be as unique as Orange Cassidy. However, that’s the hand he’s been dealt, as the gold is on the line. He had a chance to scout OC during a recent trios match on AEW Dynamite, but you truly never know what OC will pull out in a match. This is a man who has beaten Chris Jericho, and battled for the AEW World Championship – and Ospreay would be wise to not overlook him as a challenger.

Ospreay rushed right in with a dropkick, and OC side stepped with hands in pockets. OC would trip the leg of Ospreay with a low kick, before dodging a dive with a roll and matching the pose of Ospreay. Big DDT to Ospreay would follow, before he’d come back with a boot to the face. BULLET CLUB was haunting the match up in the crowd, with Juice Robinson still holding the IWGP United States Championship – having refused to recognize Ospreay as champion.

Ospreay would hit a fast knee strike into OC on the outside, crushing him into the barricade. Back into the ring, Ospreay would maintain his control and slow down the pace. A spinning backbreaker would punish the back of OC, before he’d apply the abdominal stretch.

Will Ospreay Learns To Respect Orange Cassidy

OC would slip free before slipping over the top rope. He’d slam the face of Ospreay off the top turnbuckle, before taking the back handspring blast kick. Hidden Blade was set, but OC collapsed in the middle of the ring. OC would be beaten up, but rose to his feet – hands into pockets and nailed the shotgun dropkick.

Slow motion Kawada Kicks would land, before he’d take the superkick and some high impact kicks to the face. A tight pinfall almost got the win, before Ospreay took the huge stundog millionaire. Michinoku Driver got the two count, before Ospreay set up the Cheeky Nandos kick.

OC would slip out and moonsault into a tornado DDT, before a tope suicida. Aussie Open would get involved, but dove onto. Diving DDT in the ring would land, but Ospreay kicked out. Super backdrop would be set, before Ospreay was driven into the camera. OC would play possum in the ring, before blocking the Skytwister Press with knees.

Powerbomb would be blocked into Beach Break for a 2.999999 count. OsCutter would land, before Hidden Blade was avoided. Stormbreaker was blocked into a Hurricarana, before a big lariat and Hidden Blade landed. Stormbreaker would finally end this, with Ospreay on top.

After the bell, Aussie Open & Ospreay kept beating him down – and Katsuyori Shibata would be here to make the save. Pump kick and stalling dropkick would land, and Ospreay was seeing stars.

Is Katsuyori Shibata looking for gold? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
