Booker T Feels WWE Would Be Making HUGE Mistake Taking RED HOT STAR Cody Rhodes Off TV For 6-9 Months

Right now, the biggest story in professional wrestling is the one surrounding Cody Rhodes. This past Sunday, Rhodes entered Hell in a Cell with a torn pec, and would proceed to give a babyface performance for the ages. He’d be written off TV on Monday Night RAW, with Seth Rollins beating him down with a sledgehammer – and is set to undergo surgery very on Thursday. However some feel it’d be a bad choice to take him completely off TV, including 2x WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.

Booker T Applauds Cody Rhodes For Not Letting His Fans Down

While speaking about Rhodes on his ‘The Hall of Fame’ podcast, Booker T would applaud the performance of Rhodes. He’d have the following to say.

“Watching Cody Rhodes do his work with a torn pectoral muscle was unbelievable to say the least knowing what he was going through. It just shows me what Cody Rhodes comes from, you know, as far as his DNA, what’s in his blood. Old school, that’s the way we did it back in the day.

I can’t remember calling in and saying, ‘I can’t make it today’, let alone being in the main event. So for me, I got nothing but love, nothing but respect for Cody Rhodes for going out there, doing that, and putting his body on the line for what he loves. But more importantly, he was not going to let the fans down. ”

Cody Rhodes Is Red Hot – And Can Do More Than Simply Wrestle

Going into how WWE should handle the injury of Rhodes, Booker T would say that he feels Rhodes should remain on TV in some capacity.

“I see Cody Rhodes being one of those guys that, ‘I might have to be on the shelf, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to make the show. I’m not going to make the town.’ Cody, I still think has that mentality of the old school wrestler where, ‘I’m hurt, but still book me. I could still do something. I could still talk.’

I think we’re still gonna see Cody over this period that he’s off as far as out of the ring, but I still think we’re gonna see Cody on a regular basis because I just don’t think we need Cody to go away for a six to nine month period at this point in time where he is just red hot. I just don’t think we need that.”

Right now, Cody Rhodes is even pushing to be back in the ring as early as Money in the Bank next month, which might be an unreachable goal post, even for him. He could be back sooner than fans expect provided everything goes smoothly in surgery, but a Royal Rumble return is still the expected route.

How soon do you expect Cody Rhodes to be back in the ring? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
