The aftermath of Jeff Hardy’s third DUI arrest in five years has him facing some difficult times ahead as, per Florida law, he’s facing up to five years in jail along with a list of other penalties for his actions.
His arrest also left many wrestling fans wondering about his future in AEW given the company falls in line with what Warner Media tells them to do as of late, and for good reason.
Jeff’s had a long history of substance abuse problems and his activity over the last five years seems to point to more of an escalation than not.
While he was clean when the WWE released him following a drug test when he refused to go to rehab, he fell into some bad habits recently as his three times the legal limit (.08) alcohol level arguably points to.

Suspended
We were curious how AEW would respond to his arrest and possible punishment in the eyes of the law, and Tony Kahn has answered the call with a press release vie social media.
“We were able to resume contact with Jeff Hardy this afternoon. AEW does not condone Jeff’s alleged behavior. We’ve made it clear to Jeff that we’ll assist him in getting treatment for substance abuse issues, which he has indicated that he’s open to receiving. In the interim, he is suspended without pay, and he can only return to AEW upon successfully completing treatment and maintaining his sobriety.
“If you or a loved one needs help, please reach out to SAMHSA‘s National Helpline: 1-800-662-HELP (4357).”
The good news is it appears Jeff is open to getting help to beat back his demons once again, but how much say AEW has in it may hinge on what the court rules will be his punishment.
On the morning of June 14, Jeff’s brother Matt took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Jeff’s arrest and show his support for Jeff to get healthy.
“It was disheartening to hear the news about my brother yesterday. Recovery isn’t a linear process & I’ll continue doing whatever I can to help my brother be healthy. Being healthy & well is the most important thing for Jeff, his wife, his children & our family at this time.”
We wish Jeff the best and hope he can get and stay sober and at the very least learn from his mistakes about getting behind the wheel when intoxicated.
