It is no secret that anyone who will fight the YouTube sensation Jake Paul will walk away with a fair price for the pay-per-view it will generate. However, it is in Jake’s interest to fight someone that will help him generate as many paid viewers for the bout as possible.
And who would it be better than the heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson? He has not been active in the boxing sport for decades but kept himself in shape.
Mike Tyson Wants To Fight Jake Paul As Soon As Possible – “Gotta Happen This Year!”
Recently, he guests at the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. The host is a creative man, so he asks questions that are humoristic, but yet, actual. Amongst the questions, one is regarding the possibility of a fight between the heavyweight Hall of Famer and the newcomer Jake Paul. Mike gives a good thought to the answer and in short, he gives the green light for a fight to happen.
“I never really took it seriously, but yeah, it could be really interesting. Everything is possible, yeah. But it’s gotta happen this year. It gotta happen this year.” – Mike says.
Furthermore, the boxer spoke about Jake’s fights and pointed out that he admires the Youtuber’s skills while acknowledging that he hasn’t fought a legitimate boxer. Jake Paul has five fights, but four knockouts. And Mike, in his prime was known for knocking out everybody that steps in the ring with him.
“He’s skilled enough, yes. I’m gonna give it to him. He’s skilled enough because he’s winning. Even if he’s fighting guys that you guys don’t believe is a good enough fighter, they should be able to beat him, but they can’t. He’s beating people that he shouldn’t really be beating. We got to give him that credit.” – Tyson says.
While giving him ‘credit’ for his skills, the boxer points out one thing that deserves even more respect aside from the fighting skills. He praises Jake’s struggle to better the pay for all fighters in all sports.
“And he’s doing so much good for boxing. Listen, this guy got 70 million people following him every time he fights. Champions of the world don’t have that many people following them. So what he’s doing for boxing is just sensational. No one should be hating on that. He’s helping everyone get money. Why are people mad at him?” – he adds.
Even if Mike Tyson is almost 55 years old, as we said his boxing skills are still on a very high level. He is still in shape and form and might easily defeat anyone on the boxing scene at the moment. Jake Paul is not an exclusion from this.
