Netflix executives are reportedly displeased with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after the former royals failed to get photos of baby Lilibet with Queen Elizabeth II and other senior royals while they were in the UK for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. According to ‘royal expert’ Angela Levin, Netflix exes have been completely let down by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s inability to secure the money shot.
“I heard Netflix wanted these pictures of them with the royals. Because they would have sold it. It would be very valuable, very valuable to them,” claimed the expert. Of course, the Queen and her camp likely assumed that Harry and Meghan were looking to profit from photos of the royals with Lilibet, and they immediately shut down any talk of having their personal photographer present. The Queen refused to have her meetings with the tot to be photographed, assuring that Meghan and Harry won’t be able to make a quick buck at her expense.
Netflix Disappointed With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle After They Fail To Get Photos With The Queen, Royal Expert Claims
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex landed a lucrative production deal with Netflix, said to be in the ballpark of $100 million. Harry and Meghan are responsible for delivering content to the streaming service, starting with their own docu-series that they are currently filming. Harry and Meghan have been spotted around the world with Netflix cameras in tow, aiming to capture captivating footage at any cost.
It’s safe to say that executives at Netflix instructed the couple to get quality content while back in Britain, but the Queen rightfully gave them the royal snub. Cameras were even banned entirely from the Platinum Jubilee, per the ‘Sandringham agreement’ that went into place after the Sussexes stepped down from their royal duties in 2020.
According to Angela Levin’s expert opinion, “Harry and Meghan wanted to see the Queen as soon as possible, so she saw them on the first day. She went in, and then they asked if they brought their own photographer and they asked if he could take a picture of the two Lilibets, and she said, ‘No, absolutely not possible.”
The same source had previously called Prince Harry ‘incredibly cheeky’ after he asked his aging grandmother to pose for a photo with Lilibet, citing the Queen’s declining health and added stress of the Platinum Jubilee to a list of reasons why she would not want to engage in any shenanigans. Levin also credited the palace “for being so clever and cunning that they never had a chance to be photographed with any of the senior royals.”
