Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are on thin ice after leaving the royal family and running their reputation through the mud with a series of slanderous accusations against senior royals, but they have been given one final opportunity to make things right. According to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, Harry and Meghan are in the ‘last chance saloon’ with the royal family and if they spill any private matters to the media, they will be cut off for good.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have made an exceptionally rare joint appearance in the UK earlier this month for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration, but that doesn’t mean the royal family has forgiven them for their many misgivings. At the Queen’s special occasion, Harry and Meghan were not permitted to stand on the palace balcony with the rest of the working royals, and they did not interact at all with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Given ‘Last Chance’ By Royal Family, Will Be ‘Cut Off’ If They Leak Any Private Details About Jubilee, Royal Expert Claims
Queen Elizabeth II has been open to meeting with Harry and Meghan, but not without conditions. She had made sure to keep their encounters brief, reportedly only giving them fifteen minutes of her time during the Jubilee. Her Majesty also prohibited the couple’s private photographer from taking pictures of her first meeting with Harry and Meghan’s daughter, Lilibet.
Larcombe insists that the ‘test now begins’ for Harry and Meghan to prove themselves to the royal family, who understandably questions the couple’s intentions. Harry and Meghan have a multimillion dollar deal with Netflix, and their first project with the streaming service is a docu-series about themselves.
The Queen doesn’t want to be exploited for Harry and Meghan’s personal gain, and if they sell any details about her Platinum Jubilee to the press they will be permanently shunned from the royal family, according to the royal expert. “If anything from the weekend leaked, I imagine they will be totally cut off and that’ll be it,” he claims. “Harry and Meghan would ruin that if any private information about this weekend was spoken about to the press or revealed in a book.”
Prince Harry‘s biographer Angela Levin attested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex getting a coveted photo of Lilibet with the Queen would have been ‘very, very valuable’ before adding, “They would have used it for Netflix. It would give them a kudos that they had her with her great grandmother, you know.”
Other royal experts suspect that Prince Harry likely left Britain longing for the life he once had, saying he “must have gone home feeling very depressed for what he has given up” while other experts assert that the couple skipped out on major Jubilee events because “they did not have center stage seats.” Whether or not Harry and Meghan will successfully reintegrate themselves back into the royal family remains to be seen, but it is clear that there’s no room for them to have any slip-ups at this point.
