Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to have to process the cold shoulder that they received from the Royal family at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Harry And Meghan Still Processing Rough Royal Treatment-‘Hard To See How The Royal Family Could’ve Been Any More Callous’
Any hopes of a reconciliation were put to an end, as the couple left the celebrations early. But in and amongst that, it was clear that the duo were being singled out.
Reports indicated that William refused to make eye contact with his brother at St. Paul’s Cathedral during the ‘Service of Thanksgiving.’
In addition, Queen Elizabeth had reportedly banned the couple from having a photographer in place to take pictures of her meeting with Lilibet.
Although that may have been the case, there is an argument that there could have been a compromise reached where the photos were taken on the condition that they were not publicly released.
And after having suffered so many blow backs, Harry and Meghan will have to ponder their next moves carefully. In his comments, Christopher said: “It’s hard to see how the Royal Family could’ve been any more callous towards the Sussexes.
“They were meticulously choreographed in every instant to be sidelined and marginalised….It was handled in a very cold and somewhat heartless way.”
With that being said, this is hardly going to make Harry patch things up. And with his tell-all memoir expected to be released this year, he may have grounds to discuss more personal matters about the Royal family in light of the recent treatment.
And if Harry does end up doing so, then we have already seen the precedent of what to expect as shown by the controversial Oprah Winfrey interview. The social media response was understandably mixed.
A certain subset felt Harry and Meghan had reasonable grounds for feeding aggrieved. Meanwhile, others were of the view that the couple were upset because they missed out on commercialising their visit.
One person wrote: “It’s exactly as Harry described the royal family obsessed with keeping the trolls in the tabloid press on their side they’re pathetic.”
